Episode #11: Getting Outside The Box

Robert started his educational career as a school psychologist, working with students in grades K-12. After spending 8 years in that role, and seeking out lots of opportunities for leadership, he took the jump to serve as an elementary principal at Panther Valley School District in Pennsylvania. Over the past three years, his focus has been on creating a positive and welcoming school community where students and families feel safe, supported, and loved. The school’s Cool Cats program recognizes students often for being safe, responsible, and respectful through a variety of ways. Together with the community, the school was able to build a brand new playground. In just under a year we raised $50,000. We are also continuing to work on improving our literacy instruction to reach a goal of having all students reading proficient by the end of 3rd grade. As a leader, Robert believes you need to have fun every day. Even if that means eating bugs or getting slimed!
