Rita Platt (@ritaplatt) is a Nationally Board Certified teacher and self-described edu-dork who loves all things teaching and learning. Her experience includes teaching learners of all levels from kindergarten to graduate student in locations including off-road villages in Alaska, inner city Las Vegas, and everywhere in between. She has been a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and school librarian. She currently is the principal of St. Croix Falls and Dresser Elementary Schools in northwest Wisconsin. Rita teaches graduate courses for the Professional Development Institute, writes for MiddleWeb, and just published her first book with Routledge Eye on Education and Middleweb called, Working Hard, Working Happy: Cultivating a Climate of Effort and Joy in the Classroom.
